The Next One Day Sale!!

Due to the fantastic response and happy customers from my last one day sale, I have scheduled another one day sale for Friday, July 10th.

For that day only, every item in my DWITT Etsy Store  will have a reduced price.  That includes original poster art, original paintings and drawings (many from the recent 'Naturally' exhibition with Christopher Bowman), limited edition art prints and posters, and one of a kind monoprints. It is a great chance for you to pick up some original art from me that may have been just out of your budget before, and its a chance to show my appreciation to all of you who have supported me. My five year anniversary of being a full time artist is coming up in September, and I'll plan another event to commemorate that.

'To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first' - Shakespeare

Cheers!

Sunday, June 14th 6-9pm. See you there!

Howdy everyone! Hope your summer is blossoming into one for the ages.  This coming Sunday, June 14th, myself and 7 other Twin Cities poster designers will be gathered at Magers and Quinn booksellers in Uptown Minneapolis to celebrate the release of the book Gig Posters Volume 1. We'll all have a table set up selling our own posters and prints, and we encourage all of you to pick up a copy of the book. Mr. Clay Hayes of Gigposters.com did one helluva fine job putting this book together. The event goes from 6-9pm on sunday, so stop by and say hello!

Magers & Quinn Booksellers and GigPosters.com present a release party and poster sale to celebrate the publication of Gig Posters Volume I

Magers and Quinn Booksellers hosts a poster sale by 8 Minneapolis designers. Come browse the aisles as we display assorted screen-printed works from these talented concert poster artists throughout the store. The Minneapolis poster artists are:

These are the artists responsible for the yearly success of the “Poster Offensive,” SXSW’s “Flatstock.” and One on One Bike Shop’s “Artcrank.“ Come meet them in the comfortable confines of the Twin Cities’ largest independent bookstore. As an added bonus, Magers & Quinn’s entire selection of music books will be an additional 10% off all day Sunday, June 14.

An oversized 11-by-14-inch paperback, Gig Posters Volume I is a spectacular compilation of rock show art (and a great way to decorate a dorm room or apartment). The book, available in June, features eight designers and design collectives from the Twin Cities and showcases artwork created for First Avenue, 7th Street Entry, 400 Bar, Triple Rock Social Club and music venues all across North America.

Gig Posters Volume I includes 101 perforated and ready-to-hang posters along with hundreds of other poster images and designer biographies. GigPosters.com was created and is maintained by Clay Hayes who resides in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The website launched in January, 2001. Showcasing the worlds largest historical gig poster archive, this massive online art gallery is home to thousands of designers from around the world.

Naturally thanks

Enormous thanks to all who came out on Saturday night for the opening reception of 'Naturally'. Christopher and I are grateful and are very excited about the response, solidifying in our minds that we should definitely do more work together. 'Naturally' continues this weekend, open saturday and sunday noon-5, so if you missed it, there is still a chance to see our collection of new work, totalling 184 pieces comfortably stuffed into the Back Alley Gallery.

The exhibition will feature our solo work as well as collaborative efforts, one of those efforts being a painting larger than either of us has made in over 10 years.  We're excited about it, and hope you will all come out to see it on May 30th.

April is coming up fast

Flatstock 20 was a wild time and solid success. But that party is over and now its time to get back to the grind.  Posters for Kill The Vultures, Fatty Acid, Ben Weaver, and the Skullcranes are all on the way this coming month.  Also coming up fairly soon is the St. Paul Art Crawl, and the Back Alley Gallery will be bringing our A-game.

March Madness!

In 15 short days, the DWITT caravan heads south for the annual SXSW/Flatstock circus in lovely Austin, TX.  I must summon herculean strength to accomplish all the tasks I have laid out for myself: Comic book deadlines, band logos, art prints, book submissions, print exchange pieces, and some kind of booth display...

But first, have I got a deal for you!  While supplies last, with every purchase of 3 items or more from my STORE, you will receive a FREE copy of my 3 color Slipknot poster. Unless you are a subscriber, this is the ONLY way to get a copy of the Slipknot poster since it will NOT be available for sale on its own.  That's any three prints, so it can be posters or art prints. Mix, match, and be merry!

What's goin' on

Busy times here in the studio! Of course, in two weeks is the BAG's first show of the year, 'Bitter', where I will have some new drawings and paintings. I am also hard at work on a new comic for Lerner Publishing, and this month will see 6, yes 6, new screenprinted posters for the following folks: Slipknot, Ben Weaver, Witch, Eclectone Records showcase, Round 13 records tour, and Flatstock 20. In addition to that I am doing a painting for a group show hosted by Spraygraphic, as well as a print for the Independent Record Store Day print show taking place in three cities simultaneously (more on that later since it's in April).

For any of you out there interested in  buying some t-shirts with my designs on them, check these out:  Dead To Fall (Chum Fiesta, Arthropodan Eroticism, and Brainmelter designs, and great prices too!),  Havok (the Slither, Out of Control, Shred, Furious, and Shattered designs).

And also a reminder that besides my Store right here on my website,  I welcome you to shop my Etsy.com store where I have many original drawings and paintings for sale. One of a kind goodies that will bring endless joy to your life, and I add new work on a weekly basis. And while I am gratuitously pitching my wares, those of you that don't want to miss a single print that I do, I offer a subscription, which gets you one of every print I create between August 2008 - August 2009. You can see the details HERE

One last thing, my DWITT.com Gallery is quickly coming to life. It will soon be stocked with all kinds of images from the work I have been doing over the last several years, from Fine Art, to Illustration work, and my comics.

 Enjoy!

The 'Bitter' Show

webassets/bitter.jpgMe and my fellow cohorts at the Back Alley Gallery have cooked up a deliciously wicked first show for the BAG's 2009 schedule. I, along with the BAG members and some friends, will all have new work for the show.  And despite the sour theme of the exhibition, expect the opening reception to be nothing short of joyous.

The Return!

Hello, and WELCOME to the return of DWITT.com!!

Despite nothing happening to my website for close to four years, I have been a busy bee in the studio, producing work for video games, comic books, editorial illustrations, album artwork, t-shirt designs,  gigposters, art prints, and fine art... to name just a few of my endeavours.

Please look around, shop my store, and check back here frequently as I will have regular updates and new work posted in the gallery and store!  2009 is already looking to a busy year.

  Cheers!
