Well... time flies when you're a parent. Here's a long overdue update.
Back in May, I created this print for the annual Posters and Pints show. It's
printed with 4 colors and looks like a lot more. I've very pleased with how it turned out. This was also the last print I
have made, so a layer of dust is building up upon my printing gear. I hope to get back to it soon, but trying to find time
even to draw these days is difficult.
You can pick up a copy
of this fine print RIGHT HERE.

My Last St Paul Art Crawl
10:16 am edt
Sad to say this, but this spring's St Paul Art Crawl will be my last one
in the JAX building. The building got bought and will be renovated, so I am losing my studio. That news should not, however,
dampen this spirits of this Crawl. Jeff and I have completed another collaborative art print titled, 'Queen of the North'.
It is a companion piece to our last collab, "King of the North'. When you visit out studio, #411 in the JAX building,
during the Art Crawl this weekend, purchasing this print (a mere $30 for a 4 color, 11x14, signed and numbered ready to frame
screenprint -the b/w version pictured below-) will enter you into a drawing to win Jeff's original pencils or my original
inks. The Art Crawl is Friday April 22nd 6-10pm, Sat April 23rd from noon-8pm, and Sunday April 24th from noon-5pm. Help us
send off our studio space. Cheers!

Sept 7th One Day Sale!
10:24 pm edt
is days away from my 11 year anniversary of quitting my last job, waiting tables at Khan's in Roseville, to dive headfirst
into a full time freelance art career. I was driving home with Tim Shindler from Flatstock 5 in Seattle, sure that the
time was right to make this move. I had just gotten my first comic book job drawing a graphic novel for Lerner Publishing
(entirely because Bill Hauser pointed them in my direction), and thought everything was falling
perfectly in place.
The last 11 years have been anything but easy, filled with as many disappointments
as successes, plus the constant stress of, "Who will hire me next?!" & "How will I pay this bill?"
I've made about 500 posters, drawn 7 graphic novels, a handful of murals, and a ridiculous amount of other work, and somehow
I've kept scraping by. The regular occurring jobs I have, creating art for The Growler , The Beer Dabbler & the Zombie Pub Crawl have been my only consistent income, and I am grateful for that.
These days I have finally zeroed in (at
long last) on what I do best, which is comic books. I've got several projects cooking with Jesse Snider, I just inked a
Back to the Future story penciled by Brent Schoonover that will be published in October from IDW, I have a few personal
projects in the early stages, as well as teaching comic book drawing at the Art Academy (where I just had my 1 year anniversary).
To celebrate my milestone, I'm offering a 25% discount for one day only (Labor Day) on my work by using
the coupon code LABORDWITT at either of my online shops. It's a way of saying thanks for supporting me through the years.
Whether through kind words, Facebook and Instagram likes, visiting my studio during the Saint Paul Art Crawl, buying my
work, or hiring me to create something.
Also, of course, by this time
next year Nikki & I will have a son, & I need to make more money.
Cheers! Follow either of the below links
to buy my work:

Coming soon to Lowertown
St Paul at The Black Dog is a show I am VERY excited to be part of. 'Drawn Together' is a collaborative drawing exhibition featuring 4 artists: Myself,
Alex Kuno, Dolan Cyr (aka Rachel Wacker), and Dan Wieken. Each of us pencilled out three images and we will each ink one of
everyone's work, creating 12 original drawings that could not have existed if we just worked by ourselves. It's safe to say
you haven't seen any of our work like this before. The original art will be for sale, and there will be print versions
of some of them as well, which will be easier on the wallet. The show opens on June 11th, and the big reception in on
Thursday July 2nd from 7-10. Hope to see you all there, and enjoy the show!

During my series of Inktober drawings, I decided to tackle one in the style of master illustrator and fellow Minnesotan, Aaron Horkey. I liked it enough to turn it into a screenprint & I learned a lot while trying to pull it off.
print goes on sale today, at a random time Friday morning November 28th, in the DWITT Market . I created a 4 color version and a 1 color variant. I also have several one of a kind testprints featuring
this image available in my Etsy Shop. During the drawing and printing of this image, a new appreciation for what Aaron can do was sparked, as well as my own interest
in pushing myself towards finer detail. There will be more to come like this from me. Enjoy!
